More from our retreat

I wasn't able to get alot of pictures of what the other ladies were working on but here are a few:

This one will have the bears in the center of the quilt with all the little 6" bear paw blocks surrounding it.  Going to be beautiful when it is done.

Layer cake with the large twister ruler.  I need to make one of these!

I didn't get a picture of this finished but it is so much cuter in person than the picture on the pattern package!  You use a very tiny twister ruler to make the pumpkin.  It was interesting that 3 of us had twister rulers to use on projects we brought!

Notice the nice design wall we had that went across both sides of the room by our sewing stations.

I'm still working on my Grandma's Apron quilt.  I don't know why I have such a time embroidering.  It is my take along project for trips.

Rain and flash floods took over while we were gone.

Near Name's Hill, LaBarge, Wyoming.  This road was closed for a while so the mud could be moved off the highway.  That hill in the picture has pioneer names on it.  One is supposedly Jim Bridger's.  Interesting, since he was suppose to have been illiterate.  :)

The sky was crazy beautiful all the way home!

Teton Patchwork Retreat

As mentioned in my last post, I was able to attend a quilt retreat last week.  We spent 5 days sewing up a storm inside the house while the real storms moved around outside!  At one point we weren't sure we would be able to make it home because a flash flood/mud slide closed our main highway.  We have been getting so much rain lately!
The retreat was wonderful!  http://www.tetonpatchworks.com/ Each room was decorated in a different theme.  The sewing room is set up for 8 quilters.  Since there were only 7 of us, we paid $170 dollars for 5 days, 4 nights.  I thought that was quite reasonable!  We did have to bring our own food but we pooled everything together and cost was about $20 per quilter.
Here are some of the quilts hanging up around the home:

Absolutely LOVE this quilt.  The label says it was designed by the homeowner.

I had this cute quilt hanging above my bed.

Another stunning quilt made with gorgeous fall colors!  Notice the hangers on each quilt!

Little coasters for your drink.

A bit blurry since I was hanging on the stairs trying to take the picture.

This one in a Hoffman Challenge.  Supposedly there is a mistake in the quilt but no one seems to know where it is.

These little bitties are actual fabric minis.  Love the stain glass look with them!

Most days were overcast so we didn't get much of a view this time of the Tetons.

Our home away from home!

What I'm Working On

This is Snow Business by Geralyn Powers on my design wall today.
I went to a quilt retreat last week and this was one of the projects I worked on.  I took projects/kits that I had stashed away in my closet.  You know....those ones that you want to make but somehow they get pushed behind all the newer projects that are calling your name.  I'm so glad I took this kit with me.  It is still as cute as it was when I first saw it.....back in 2005.  Ummmm......yea.
