Trunk Show Part 2

More quilts from That Patchwork Place and the books, Scrap Basket Surprises and Baker's Dozen:

This one was done by our local quilt designer, Geralyn Powers. She wanted to show how the quilt could look in a different colorway. It changes the whole design sometimes.

Trunk Show

I attended a trunk show last week at the LQS. We saw quilts from That Patchwork Place. They had sent quilts from a couple of "stash" quilt books. Of course I can't remember both titles now. One was Baker's Dozen though. I think the other one was Scrap Basket Surprises. It's always fun to see the quilts in person instead of just pictures in a book. The colors are so much better in person!

Have to say I loved this one!

The gal on the left is the owner of the store. Notice the aprons hanging above? They go along with the BOM on aprons. The September block was not an apron block so I am excited to see how it will all play out by December!

Will show some more later this week!

Halloween Swap quilt

I finally got this one to the quilter. I was in a swap last year with ladies from around the world. It was fun to get the finished blocks back and see where everyone was from. Since it was so long ago, I hope I can find where I put all the names/areas of each participant so they can go on the quilt label.

Instead of using new fabric for the back I decided to use up the last of the Halloween fabric I had. Also put my extra blocks from the swap on the back. I'm trying to use up my fabric!

Back from the quilter

And I'm very pleased with the quilting. I was very specific this time in telling the quilter I wanted black thread on the black. She did a chicken wire on the black to go along with the fabric.

Great weekend! Except for "our" team losing.

Got to be with this sweet lil' one this weekend! Darn. I am looking ummmm....old-----er.

Sweet baby girl will be turning 1 in a couple of weeks. We brought her gifts for her birthday.

Headed to Colorado Springs after visiting a bit with the family. The game started out great but then turned from bad to awful pretty quick so I ended up being entertained by the cheerleaders and Cosmo. We actually flew home on the same plane as them...as a mom with a single daughter and son, I was ready to get phone numbers for my kids---they need some dates! Cute young people here!

Here's 3 of us....what a hot day! I am just not use to the heat anymore since we now live in a cold state! I stood in line for 1/2 hour just to buy an overpriced snowcone to cool me off! (And to get away from a miserable game---who could watch??? Such agony!)

This also kept me entertained. And puzzled. Can you see them?

Here's a better look. There were about 5 birds with their handlers in the end zone during the game. I wasn't quite sure why they were all there.

When we got home today our son gave his dad a "cheer ya up" gift...he found these in a Utah grocery store this weekend! How funny!

Again, it was hard to come home after being with the sweet baby girl and her parents! Way too short of a trip!

Reorganization

I have a closet in the gym where I store some of my sewing/craft supplies. It has been very unorganized for a very long time. Finally I did something about it.

I pulled out all my quilt kits and laid them on the treadmill. Yes. I have alot. The prices were good so I bought. (I know...I know...that's a poor excuse...sort of embarrassing seeing all of these laid out and knowing I probably won't make all of them!)

While on my trip last week to Boise, I found these baskets at TJ Maxx (LOVE THAT STORE!). It was like a lightbulb went off and I got the idea to reorganize the closet and put my kits in these cute things.

Here's what the "neat" side of the closet looks like now. I, and the closet, feel so much better!

Jelly Roll Sampler Quiltalong almost done!

Have been working on my last blocks for the Sampler Quilt that you make from a jelly roll. It has been a fun online quilt-a-long! If you didn't play along, all the blocks and instructions are on Konda's blog. Just click the highlighted words above. I used Summer's Basket of Flowers by Moda to make all the blocks. Now to even up all the blocks and put it together! So nice to be able to use up an old jelly roll!
