Missing in Action

Yikes!  Have I really been gone this long from my last post?!?
Not much going on in the my lil' quilting world.  I did finish this UFO in June.  Should have ironed out the crease in the middle before taking a picture of it but I was too lazy.

Used almost all of the leftover scraps for the back of the quilt.

In non-quilting life, I was able to watch these two guys several times before the season was over.  Daddy was the coach of the lil' guy's T-Ball team.  I haven't watched a game since my own kids were in T-Ball so it was very entertaining.  Lil' guy enjoyed it and will play next year again but told grammie that he is better in soccer.  How can you not love 5 year olds?!

Fun news on Father's Day.  Oldest son asked if we were near a computer and to go check my email....this is what came up!   We can hardly wait for January to come!  Newest one is due on Lil' guy's birthday.  We are excited to see how close their birth days will be!

The Honey and I sailed away on this huge thing for our Anniversary.  34 years.  Who can believe that????!   We can't be old enough to have been married that long!

Cruised the Inside Passage in Alaska.  Had a wonderful time.  Even had time to stop for a few minutes to shop in Quilt Alaska in Skagway.   Bought a Glacier quilt kit to remind us of the beautiful scenery we saw up there.

This is a month full of birthdays so not sure when I will be back.....have been making some burp cloths for the lil princess.  She is now 3 months old and of course still as cute as can be!  We are suppose to head to the cabin again next week so maybe I will take some quilty things with me to sew and hopefully be back soon to show you all!
Hope you are having a great summer too!  Summer always goes by too fast here in Wyoming!

The reaction

Okay so if I am being honest....the lil' man's reaction is probably more for the toy trucks than the quilt but I had to share.

Now on to other quilty things. This year, along with many other bloggers, I am going to try to use use up what I already have. I have several quilt kits that I have bought from years pass that are just taking up space. I hope to make several of them in 2011. I have time today to go through my stash and pick one of those kits to start working on. I hope this won't be too hard of a resolution for me to keep!

Here comes the Convoy!

My dil had an emergency appendectomy a couple of weeks ago. While at the hospital she found out she was pregnant! I have been watching these two lil' ones so she can rest. It has been fun and crazy!

This was my high chair when I was a baby. I have used it for all of my kids and now we are on to the grandkids using it. Yes.......it needs a new strap to keep the munchkin in. I think he was trying to get out because I was taking too long to find him something else to eat. :)

And lil' man is dancing because he is so excited that he could help Grammie decorate the Christmas tree! I love the excitement and energy of these lil' ones!

Speaking of CRAZY.....I am finally finishing this Buggy Barn pattern called Convoy. It is for the oldest's birthday. Am changing the pattern so it will fit on his bed. It has to be done this weekend so I can get on with Christmas and fun times! It's our year to have all the kids home so the Honey and I are excited!

While we were sewing.......

The lil' guy and his mommy came over today.  We played and played with puzzles and his train.  Then he asked for milk.  And cartoons.  I guess gramma doesn't have very good cartoons on her tv.  This is what happened while I went to help his mom cut out some fabric for her purse class she is taking on Thursday.

Here's a picture that will keep reminding me to put those cuttings of aloe vera into a pot!  I gave middle child cuttings and then I killed my plants so she reciprocated and gave me back some cuttings.

Aqua and Red Disappearing 9-Patch

Have you joined Jane's newest swap? I enjoyed her Halloween swap that just finished so decided to do another one with her. The color scheme is to use only aqua's and red's. I thought I had more of each but as you know I love looking for new fabric so having to shop for some new stuff with just the right colors was fine by me!

Nothing to do with quilting but have to share....this lil' guy has my heart. I heard my cell phone ringing today and ran to answer it. No one on the other end. I could tell by the number that it was lil' guy's mom's phone so I said her name a few times. Then I wondered if a lil' cutie could be playing with his mom's phone so I said his name a few times. No answer so I hung up and redialed. Here comes this little voice..."Hi Gramma! I call you!" I heard his mom asking to see the phone and who he was talking to. She told me that he kept telling her that he wanted to call me so I talked to him for a few minutes.....something about trucks.....haven't quite learned how to decipher all the words he says yet. I could hear his dad walk in the house for lunch and the lil' guy says to his dad, "I talk to gramma!" My son took the phone and told me that the lil' guy was now running around the house all excited that he could call me. LOVE that lil boy of ours! I'm so glad it was my number he called when he punched numbers! Makes me smile.

Now back to sewing up some 9-patches for the swap!
