Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Not sure where the time goes but I just haven't spent too much time at the sewing machine.

Actually we have been visiting this lil' 2 year old this month.  She lives out of state and I sure do miss her!  We had a great week visiting her and her parents!

I've also loved having our youngest son home from BYU for a few weeks this month.  He left yesterday for an internship in San Antonio.  Hopefully that beast behind him will get him there, back AND around for 10 weeks!  Joel hasn't bought a car for himself yet...wants to keep saving money so he is stuck with our "leftovers" for his trip.  I'm pretty proud of this kid...he was just accepted into the Master's program at school (yes....he is older than you think).

This lil' one still has my heart.  6 weeks old now and still has all her hair!  She looks so big and chunky here but is still just a lil' thing!

I did make this wall hanging this month.  I realized I didn't have any quilt for Flag Day or 4th of July so I looked through my patterns and found this one to make.  It is an Out On A Limb pattern called America Something to Crow About.  Love my rooster guy!

The reaction

Okay so if I am being honest....the lil' man's reaction is probably more for the toy trucks than the quilt but I had to share.

Now on to other quilty things. This year, along with many other bloggers, I am going to try to use use up what I already have. I have several quilt kits that I have bought from years pass that are just taking up space. I hope to make several of them in 2011. I have time today to go through my stash and pick one of those kits to start working on. I hope this won't be too hard of a resolution for me to keep!

Today's the day!

The lil' guy is 4 today! Here are his gifts from Grammie and Grampie. He came over a few weeks ago---ran into the house and just stopped in his tracks, staring at the design wall. Finally he asked me where the truck blocks were since they weren't on the wall anymore. He will be surprised to see them made into a quilt just for him. Of course I know he will be excited to play with the toy trucks! He is definitely all boy! Happy Birthday lil' man! I am so happy you are in my life!

Here comes the Convoy!

My dil had an emergency appendectomy a couple of weeks ago. While at the hospital she found out she was pregnant! I have been watching these two lil' ones so she can rest. It has been fun and crazy!

This was my high chair when I was a baby. I have used it for all of my kids and now we are on to the grandkids using it. Yes.......it needs a new strap to keep the munchkin in. I think he was trying to get out because I was taking too long to find him something else to eat. :)

And lil' man is dancing because he is so excited that he could help Grammie decorate the Christmas tree! I love the excitement and energy of these lil' ones!

Speaking of CRAZY.....I am finally finishing this Buggy Barn pattern called Convoy. It is for the oldest's birthday. Am changing the pattern so it will fit on his bed. It has to be done this weekend so I can get on with Christmas and fun times! It's our year to have all the kids home so the Honey and I are excited!

Love those grandbabies!

I have a tough time getting this lil' man to smile normal anymore.  But it doesn't matter...being around these two lil guys brings such happiness to me!

The quilt you see is one I made for these guy's daddy many years ago.  Didn't have a sewing machine at the time but I wanted a quilt for the new addition we were having.  Bought some cheap fabric at TG&Y (anyone remember that store?) and came home and tied a baby quilt together.  The back is flannel.  Hand sewed the binding on but after years of being loved, I had to sew the binding back on awhile ago.  The quilt still seems to be going strong though.  I should give it to it's rightful owner but every time I see my grandson's play on it, it brings back so many memories of all our hopes and dreams we had as a new family.  Can't do it yet.

I LOVE sales!

It's been about a week since I last posted.  I have been trying to get some Christmas gifts sewn but some other things---important things---have come up.

I do have to show this though....I love this annual sale at Ace Hardware!  I had to drive on Saturday in snow for about 45 minutes to get to it but when Ace has their clearance fabric marked off 75%, I MUST be there!  I buy the bolt since they are now so cheap and use the fabric for backings on my quilts.

Here's the important thing I have been doing this week!  We added another grandbaby on Friday, the 13th!  I have been busy playing gramma.  Here is Lil' Prince with his BIG brother, Lil' Guy.  I was so happy he didn't come yesterday when the big snowfall hit.  His mommy has these babies fast and the interstate was closed for over 9 hours yesterday because of wrecks on the road.

With this lil' Junior Miss that makes 3 grandbabies for us!  We couldn't be happier!
