The Honey had a business trip in Loveland, Colorado this past week and asked if I wanted to go with him. If you have ever driven I-80 in Wyoming (or for that matter Nebraska) you know there isn't much along the route. We stopped in Rawlins to have dinner at an interesting restaurant. Sanford's. I have never seen so many tv's in a eating place! Before we left, I went into the bathroom and while there I had to take a picture. Here's a picture looking towards the toilet.
This is a picture looking toward the sink from the toilet. Can you see them???? This bathroom had 2 tv's in it! Made me laugh so I had to take a picture of it! Oh! The food was fantastic though! So stop, if you are ever in Rawlins. It's down on their old Main street.
Eastern Wyoming is always interesting. You never know what the weather will be like. Between Laramie and Cheyenne is some beautiful country but it can be foggy, windy (always), snowy, etc. There is one little spot with a gas station in the midst of it all. Ol' Buford, Wyoming. Population 1. I really don't believe the sign anymore and was afraid to comment on it because I didn't want to insult the man but you see other houses popping up in the area now. The Honey had to ask about Buford though. The owner of the gas station said that Buford use to be bigger than Cheyenne back in the 1800's but that now it was just him living there for the past 30 years. If you can read the other signs, they tell you that it is the highest town between San Francisco and NYC. Have to have a claim to fame out in the middle of nowhere I guess.

Denver once again!
We were able to fly to Denver this weekend to attend the baby blessing of our darling granddaughter. Flights were only $25/one way so we couldn't pass up the great deal and fly! Middle daughter and her dh went with us. She found a good deal on a downtown hotel for our first night. It was a fun hotel to stay at. Certainly not your average hotel! Very art deco!
This was room. Hotel Monaco.
The ceiling in the lobby.
And the lounge area, where you could sit and relax if you didn't want to be in your room.
I forgot how to change my settings on the camera so this is the only semi-good pic that came out showing downtown Denver. We just happened to be there at the same time the city was having a light parade. It was excellent! If I am ever in Denver again at Christmastime, I would love to attend it again. Of course it really helped that we were able to look down on the parade from our hotel room so we stayed warm!
Here's the cutie who has been the star this weekend! 10 weeks old.
And you know I couldn't visit without this happening........! What is it with me and snow in Denver?! I thought it was suppose to be just a few flakes this weekend!

A Lovely Saturday
Saturday means football at our house. We have season tickets to go to the Cougar's games in Provo. Yesterday the Honey decided we should leave early and drive over to Mirror Lake and then on to Kamas before heading to Provo. It was a beautiful drive with all the leaves turning colors. Here's some of the pics I took on the drive. I hope we do this trip again next year! There are several glacier lakes at the top of the summit that I would like to explore.
When we arrived in Kamas, it was lunch time. I was happy we didn't stop at the first little burger joint we found. This cute restaurant was on Main Street. It is called Yolk on Main. Their special on Saturday afternoons is their French Dip sandwich with real prime rib. Oh it was yummy! I would definitely stop there again!
After the WIN in Provo, we decided to travel on up to the cabin. The Honey was dying to see the Cougar Y on the wall and the paved driveway that was recently poured. Here's what our trees look like this a.m.
And looky who dropped by! Mama and her baby!
And just have to say that I now get to change my profile...I am the proud gramma of a beautiful baby girl! Born Friday at 3:52 a.m. Junior Miss looks beautiful on the webcam. Hopefully we will see her soon in person! I can hardly wait to hold her.
