Thought I would post these pics tonight of the small quilt show that was in conjunction with Quilt Wyoming. Several quilts caught my eye for different reasons.
This first quilt was very different. The Bible was printed on pellon or some other sort of interfacing. It also was several pages so it could be turned like a book.
Hard to believe that this "painting" is really fabric instead of paint! It was amazing!
Here's another one that shows the fabric a bit more.
I should have read the tag on this one. Reminded me of a Pam Bono pattern. Maybe it is?
This is a Christmas quilt. Can you see the Christmas trees surrounding the star?
A way to incorporate doilies onto a quilt.
This was a beautiful quilt. Each embroidered block has some black beading sewn on it.
A close-up of one of the blocks.
Will show more pics from the quilt classes I took in another post. I had a great time!

My bags are packed!
Here I go! Finally going to do something quilt related! It's been awhile. Summer has been so busy for our family but now I get to go to our State Quilt Guild Retreat! I can hardly wait!
Here's my Tutto (a gift from the Honey) with my retreat sewing machine. I love this machine so much! When my mother passed away many years ago, my dad gave me some money that mom had kept in her credit union. I was able to purchase this machine plus a very nice sewing/serger cabinet. This machine is a work horse!!! I didn't need my newer model at all but the Honey bought me a new machine for Christmas one year so now this machine goes with me to classes or to the cabin. I really do miss not using it all the time.
My fabric selection for the class I will be taking tomorrow. It's a stash pile that I bought without having a quilt in mind. Love the bright colors of this fabric! It is called Fanciful by Renae Lindgren for Wilmington.
Here is the first class I will be taking. I bought this book several months ago and thought it looked interesting. When I saw there would be a class teaching how to make the quilts in the book I had to sign up. Who wants to read the directions when someone will just tell you how to make it?! I love quilt classes!
My other class I signed up for is being taught by Mary Lou Weidman. She is a National Teacher so class should be fun and interesting. I am going to be out of my element since the class is based on her book, Flower Power but I am excited to see what we make!
Hopefully next blog post can show the results of my classes!

The lil' Princess
I got to visit this lil' sweetie all last week! The Honey had a work related convention in Denver so I tagged along to see our most favorite granddaughter in the whole wide world! (yes...there is only the one)
It was hard to leave this lil' one when we had to head home yesterday but sure did love our time together while we were there!

I'm spoiled!
The Honey certainly loves me! 32 roses for our anniversary yesterday plus bath goods and a gift certificate to my LQS! Also had dinner out at a local restaurant that caters to my dieting ways. It was yummy! Yea!
Here are the goodies I purchased from the Utah Shop Hop. Just getting around to putting them away. The weeks have been busy around here! I wasn't too impressed with the "sales" most of the shops had...meaning there wasn't much of a sale...but when I saw 20% on the books at a few of the stores, I took advantage of it and bought a couple that I had been wanting to buy. The owl pattern was so cute made up into a quilt so I bought it. Found the owl fabric at 40% off and will use it for the backing of the future quilt! Don't you love how Broadbent's folds their fabric they cut for you?! You can see everything you purchased while it is neatly folded for you! Got the fat quarters and sparkly fabric at shops that had them on sale. I never like to buy full price if I don't have to!

Paducah, Kentucky
I never showed my pics of Paducah so thought I would share them today. What a cute town! Loved the wall of murals by the river. Went to the Farmer's Market and bought some foot lotion that was made locally to take home with me. There was also the National Quilt Museum to visit. The really fun part of the day was finding Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day shop and hearing that everything in the store was 30% off! Poor Honey had to walk around town by himself while I shopped there.

Utah Shop Hop 2010
The theme of this year's shop hop was Celebrations. Here are a few of the quilts that were made by a few of the quilt shops. Can you guess the celebration from each quilt?
This is Family Reunion from Corn Wagon Quilt Co.
I really loved this Birthday quilt that Broadbents made! Notice the banner? So cute to see it in person.
4th of July from Thimbles and Threads in Draper.
Material Girls chose Mother's Day as their theme. We all received crowns so we were Queens for a Day.
Are we ready for some football?! Cute idea from Quilt's Etc. They even had a tailgate party out back!
May Day from Sew Sweet. Very cute quilt and one I might have to make.
This quilt was from Village Dry Goods in Brigham City. You will really have to guess their celebration because I can't remember. I do remember there were pictures of old records on their floor with songs on them.
Cinco de Mayo was the festive theme from Quilter's Haven. I always enjoy visiting this shop.
Again, I can't remember Piper's celebration.
Elaine's chose New Year's Eve. This was also a great quilt. Loved the sparkly fabric in it!
One store, Quilt's Etc, was generous to give away a free pattern to make this cute bag.
Had a great time hopping from store to store! Of course I made some purchases. Will try to get those posted asap. Life is still so busy around here with my son home and family visiting. Have also been to our cabin at the lake for several days. Tomorrow I head to Girl's Camp with the girls from our Church. Busy, busy, busy....no sewing....but am having fun!
